Senior level DBA
Location: Cape Town
Contract position
Relevant IT Qualification
• Oracle and SQL DBA duties (Configuration, tuning and troubleshooting, etc.)
• Provide support for non-ERP applications.
• Where required: make system modifications, develop work-arounds or site-specific enhancements, manipulate data, reconfigure systems, change operating procedures, train users or operations staff, produce additional documentation, or escalate requests to systems development staff or software suppliers.
• Manage IIS and WebDav
• Patching of applications, servers and databases.
• Troubleshoot database outages
• Good Linux OS knowledge and know how to patch them (ideally have RedHat experience)
• Assist with writing database documentation, including data standards, procedures, workflows, diagrams, etc.
• Be able to do the following on SQL and Oracle: Installations on Windows and Linux, Backup and Recovery, support, etc.

Technical knowledge and experience:
• Languages / Environments: HTML/ JavaScript/ XML/ CSS / MVC / Web API Advanced/ Transact SQL/ SSIS/ SSRS/ SSAS/ Oracle 9i/ 10g PL SQL
• Development Tools: Microsoft Visual Studio and TFS
