Applications are invited from suitably qualified and skilled candidates for this position at the Agri Services department, as part of the Kariega operations. The Senior Production Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all operations relating to harvesting of chickens, clean-out and preparation of poultry houses and selling of manure is done in a cost-effective manner, as well as overseeing the maintenance of chicken house heating equipment.
The successful incumbent should have a tertiary qualification in Production, Agriculture or related field and 8 years' overall experience in managing teams and associated logistics, vehicles, repairs, and preventative maintenance. At least 6 years’ experience at Senior Management level. This position reports to the Group Agri Manager.

Results Required:

• Achieve Agri Production Costs below budget;
• Achieve excellent standards of clean-out and
house preparations;
• Ensure a continued steady supply of chickens
to the abattoir
• Maintain high standards of bird welfare at all
times;
• Ensure internal logistic of moving the teams
and equipment are performed optimally
• Ensure strict Biological Risk Control standards;
• Maintain a formal and effective maintenance
program for all vehicles and heating units;
• Responsible for all actions and response
relating to stuck vehicles, accidents, and other
unforeseen transport related issues.
• Ensure all operations are effectively resourced
in the 24hr operations
