Senior Project Manager (Retail/Industrial Engineering)
12-month renewable contract, Cape Town

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the activities of large or several smaller sized technology projects to ensure business needs and objectives are accomplished. The role takes accountability for the development of project plans specifying goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, identification of risks, contingency plans, and allocation of resources. In addition, the role is accountable for formulating the technical scope and objectives of projects, directing the activities of project resources to ensure projects progress on schedule and within budget.

Objectives

• Project planning Ensure the effective planning of projects through effectively estimating costs, timescales, and resource requirements to ensure the successful delivery of projects within the agreed scope.
• Project Management Accountable for preparing, managing and maintaining realistic scope, time, cost, quality, human resource, communication, risk, and procurement management plans in line with project objectives.
• Risk and Change Management Identify, assess and manage potential risks to the success of the project, and ensure well-defined change control procedures are in place to proactively assess the effect of changes on costs, timeframes, and other resource needs.
• Quality Management Ensure project governance standards and practices are consistently adhered to, and industry best practice and methodologies are applied throughout.
• Financial control Responsible for adequately monitoring, controlling, and reporting of human and material resources, associated revenue costs, and all capital costs against the allocated project budget.
• Communication Effectively communicate and report project progress and changes to the relevant project sponsors and stakeholders.
• Stakeholder Management Continuously liaise with key stakeholders in the business to ensure the adequate management of project expectations.
• People Management Take responsibility for leading the project team through the allocation of tasks, and monitoring team performance against the project plan and deliverables

Requirements

• Completed Degree / Diploma (NQF level 7) in Information Technology or Computer Science
• PMSA: Project Management PMSA: PrPM: Professional Project Management
• Retail industry experience (industrial engineering advantageous)
• 5 years plus in a Senior Project Management role
• Excellent Communication at Stakeholder level
• Financial management skills Project management : Can effectively do planning, budgeting for, overseeing and documenting of projects to ensure that the scope of all projects are adhered to and are running according to schedule.
