Description of Duties:

Responsible for safety, health, environmental and quality control functions in Southern Africa. This person oversees all processes related to Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Control, such as writing procedures, checklists, conducting audits, in-house training, and compliance with legislation as well as Industries requirements. This position is responsible for conducting inspections of manufactured goods returned from suppliers, handling of customer complaints, supplier visits. Prepare and submit incident, injury on duty, product non-conformance and customer complaint reports. This person is responsible for implementation and maintenance of SHEQ related policies and procedures as defined by Industries, the Global Division and local legislation, as required.

Qualifications:

BTech Degree in SHEQ Management or Bachelor's Degree in Total Quality Management

Or SHEQ Engineering Diploma

5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or industrial operations
In depth understanding of South African SHEQ legislation
Train the trainer, Moderator or Assessor certification
The ability to speak, read and write Afrikaans and English
Personal computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel)

Additional Qualifications:


Experience inspecting welding and galvanizing or relevant certification
Passion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results

Essential Functions:

Demonstrate commitment to Safety Mission and immediately address any safety issues in the work area.
Partner with other areas to ensure SHEQ policies and principles are implemented and maintained
Responsible for safety, health, environmental and quality control functions
Oversee all processes related to Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Control, such as writing of policies and procedures, checklists, conducting audits, accident & injury investigations, risk assessments, SHEQ related training, compliance with legislation as well as Industries requirements.
Conducts inspections of manufactured goods returned from suppliers, handles customer complaints, and supplier visits.
Prepare and submit incident, injury on duty, product non-conformance and customer complaint reports.
Implementation and maintenance of SHEQ related policies and procedures as defined by Industries, the Global and local legislation, as required.
Guidance for any SHEQ legal issues that arise

Quality inspections conducted on all outgoing products, and failures rejected
