This specialist multidisciplinary Construction Company operating throughout Southern Africa, the Sub-Saharan and Indian Ocean region is looking for suitably qualified Site Engineer with a sound knowledge of Civil Structures and who are prepared to travel when necessary.

This specialist company offers technologically proven construction solutions to Building, Civil Engineering and Geotechnical projects. They offer clients packaged solutions for a range of products. Their core business is the design, supply and installation of pre-stressing to concrete structures DSI licensed products.
They cover the entire range of pre and post-tensioning, bonded and unbonded and internal or external systems to a wide range of building and civil structures; Cable Staying; Jacking and Launching: Their services include Incremental Launching of bridges (ILM) as well as heavy lifting and moving of large structures as well as Geotechnical.

They are looking for the following

Site Engineer - Civil Concrete Structures

Education / Qualification

• ND/BTech/BSc/BEng Civil Engineering

Experience

• Minimum 5 years as an Site Engineer on site.
• Civils Structures experience.

Requirements

• Sound knowledge of site environments and workflow requirements
• Good technical knowledge associated with site construction requirements
• Computer literacy
• Sound knowledge of all Construction Industry legislation
• Good interpersonal skills and people management ability
• Planning and Scheduling.

Key Responsibilities

• Compile accurate cost reports timeously
• Compile accurate contract cash flow, Turnover Forecast, Margin Forecast. Monitor variances and address monthly
• Ensure timeous compliance to contractual correspondence (e.g. notifications, timeframes, site letters, meetings)
• Ensure workflows are optimized and all documentation is easily accessible and records are maintained(e.g. filing systems, distribution systems,
tender files, minutes of meeting, etc.)
• Ensure safety appointments in place
• Ensure all individuals take accountability for all safety and environments requirements of the site
• Develop and monitor contractual programs as per requirements
• Develop and monitor resourced working program
• Monitor program and implement fortnightly rolling horizon program
• Update Contractual program as required
• Ensure method statements are prepared and submitted timeously
• Labour reports issued and used effectively i.e. overtime, coding, etc.
• Implement effective stores control (i.e. stock levels, daily deliveries, etc.)
• Management of Plant, Equipment and Vehicles
• Adherence to Quality procedures
