Job Description:

The Site Manager is responsible for the management of the Fibre Deployment Civil Works Teams on all conventional trenching, planting of Poles and the installation of fibre optic duct and cables within SA.
To manage all Civil Installation project teams in accordance with the approved installation standards and best practice to achieve installation targets.
To ensure that an installation strategy for the installation of fibre optic infrastructure is compiled and implemented on-site by the civil project teams; and
To manage (plan, organize, direct, control, monitor, implement) implementation projects in multiple environments meeting project milestones.
Ensure that in the execution of projects due consideration is given to safety, Health, Environmental and quality (SHEQ) best practices and regulations.
To attend and lead municipal meetings and arrange proof of concept demonstrations
To enhance long term client relationships via effective image building and client communication.
Obtain written briefs and confirmation of approvals from internal and external project stakeholders and ensure successful execution of projects.
Develop and maintain as-build plans from pre-production to final delivery, detailing the scope of work, resources required (internal and external), activities per resource, deliverables, milestones and deadlines.
Understand the implications of changes to the scope in terms of costs, resourcing and deadlines and manage accordingly
Ensure that the right amount of time is allocated to each job and ensure work is produced on time, to brief and meeting quality standards
Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
Manages the process of verifying and approve final invoices
Manage the procurement of required resources
Manage the process of cost management and risk management
Measure project performance and submit daily reports
Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and ensure that all project documentation is stored for future reference
Manage all project tracking documents and share updates with respective teams weekly/monthly as required and ensure projects are done using accepted and approved installation standards.
Proactively contribute ideas for new installation and deployment strategies and identify areas for improvement
Ensure Quality management ensuring that Installations Standards are adhered to at all times and identify and address quality issues as soon as they arise
Provide a quality Service to clients.
Manage the full process of quality control processes have been followed for all civil works.
Act as custodian of project assets – including Trenching Machinery, Motor Vehicles and Tools
Ensure that all internal procedures are adhered to which will include adhering to Procurement and Purchase Order requirements, monthly claims and time sheets are submitted timeously

Qualifications:

Matriculation with recognized experience in Civil Fibre Projects.
Understanding municipal infrastructure and road construction as well as service distribution on municipal infrastructure.
SHEQ training with applicable qualification.
At least 5 years operational experience in Civil Project within the Telecommunications Sector will be advantageous
Able to travel to other provinces and towns if needed
Working knowledge of Microsoft office products
Experience in project roll-out and deployment planning and budgeting
Strong analytical ability
