Our client is looking for a dynamic individual to take up the role of Site Planner and become a part of their team!

Main Purpose of Job

Produce, develop, operate, create ā€˜Sā€™ curve, interpret, monitor and report on all relevant programmes for the company site team such that the project can be controlled to finish on time and within budget
Control the plan/schedule that determines and highlights the course of the outage and also become instrumental in highlighting any changes in the project that will affect the outcome
Required Qualifications/Experience
Minimum - Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
Planning course endorsed by SAPICS or APICS
Attended Primavera/MSP or other accredited Planning courses a benefit
Previous exposure to computerised project/planning packages
Involvement with project teams
Minimum of 2 years planning experience within a site environment
Exposure to power and/or petrochemical plant work environment


Responsibilities:

Prepare, at the pre-contract/enquiry stage, preliminary work flow programmes to enable delivery schedules to be assessed and alternative strategies to be developed
Produce all necessary work flow programmes, at various levels, at the appropriate time to establish the overall project base complete with critical path and float, ensuring all project personnel are advised of the project key dates to be achieved and that the programmes are explicit, intelligible, capable of accepting change readily, and of being routinely monitored
Monitor and update all project programmes by daily discussions with site personnel and sub-contract representatives and to carry out daily on-site monitoring of reported progress in order to report status accurately to the Construction Manager and head office management
Communicate to all relevant parties the agreed interface links with the company, client and sub-contractors work flow programmes to ensure project targets are met allowing the commissioning to proceed to programme
Review and highlight to site management critical areas in the programme together with suggested improvements/alternatives to offset their effects
Maximise the use of approved computer software packages to facilitate prompt, accurate and regular updates, of any revision to programmes during the project
Liaise with site cost/commercial personnel and ensure that any delays, changes to scope, etc. are incorporated into the project programme
Liaise with the Section Supervisor and Site Quality Engineers to ensure that any weld repairs, non-conformance items/services, re-work, etc. are incorporated into the project programme
Report to the Construction Manager on any changes to the project programme and advise on possible actions which could be taken, including additional resources, to avoid any extension of time beyond the contract completion date
Liaise with the Construction Manager, Supervisors, sub-contractors and Site Quality Engineer to monitor the progress on the project and to compare the actual against the planned, highlighting to the Construction Manager any areas of concern
Liaise with the appointed sub-contractors to ensure that relevant milestones are adhered to
Liaise with site cost/commercial personnel and provide information and support as required for any commercial claim
Liaise with buyers/material controller/storeman and provide programme information to enable spares, materials or services to be expedited to suit the planned programme requirements
Ensure that any delays and their effects are recorded
Ensure that the role and responsibilities of the Site Planner are fully understood and implemented
Agree and accept the objectives and targets by which their personal performance on the contract with respect to quality, safety and other disciplines can be appraised in accordance with the requirements of the appraisal system of the company
