Purpose of Position:
Complement Recruitment are recruiting for a Slitter Section in Charge Supervisor for a client within the Manufacturing Industry. This is a permanent position based in eThekwini, Durban, Kwazulu Natal. Experience in a large, high pressurised manufacturing environment essential.

Minimum Requirements:
• Minimum 5 - 7 years of Supervisory & Operations experience in a Manufacturing / Converting Environment
• Matric, Diploma in Plastic Manufacturing or relevant Engineering Diploma
• 5 Supervisory experience required
• Food Safety Certificate & Supervisory Management Certificate Highly Advantageous
• Ability to be self-manage and multitask
• Ability to follow directions
• Ability to lead and manage the performance of others
• Timeliness

Duties:
Supervise Operation of Slitting Department, to ensure it:
• This position reports to the Production Engineer
• Perform to quality, waste, and production standards and goals
• Meet or exceed the customers (both internal and external) expectations
• Meet the highest of quality standards
• Communicate orally and/or in writing to other departments for resolution of mechanical problems, reporting defective material, coordination of job preparations, changeovers and daily shift information
• Report production accurately and timely including waste, WIP, time codes, raw materials, etc.
• Ensure your own safety while operating the machine and that of those assisting with operations

Core Functions:
• Creating Daily plan for all slitting machines based on Dispatch Plan
• Check for availability of feed rolls
• Review Slitter parameters set for shift production process and ensure maximum output
• Alter the settings based on the product quality requirements & process conditions
• Inspect visual quality defects and adjust parameters
• Co-ordinate with Planner to utilize rejections.
• Provide the daily output as per plan
• Ensure safety of the employees, product and machines in their respective shifts; Manage & motivate team
• Carry out analysis for any quality or process related problems and take necessary corrective actions
• Ensure timely chaining/disposal of rolls and quality of the cores used, ensure there is no effect on the quality of the product
• Ensure all standards & protocol are followed through creating awareness and communication
• Generate daily reports and monthly MIS
• Perform daily housekeeping duties to keep area clean and organized during setup, run and end of shift
• Ensure efficiency and targets; Remove and weigh all waste (start up and end waste)
• Ensure waste separation (recyclable materials and non-recyclable)
• Properly store all unused equipment
• Adhere to all Safety, TQM and 5S principles
