Metallizer Slitter Operator - Manufacturing | Pinetown - Durban

Purpose of Position:
Complement Recruitment are recruiting for a Metallizer Slitter Operator from the manufacturing (packaging & plastics) industry. This is a permanent position based in eThekwini, Durban, Kwazulu Natal. Applicants must have 3 years experience in operating metallizer machinery & equipment in a highly pressurised food & packaging environment.

Minimum Requirements:
• 3 years of experience operating Metalizer machinery in a packaging / plastic environment
• Certificate Plastic Manufacturing; Food Safety Certificate
• Grade 12 Non Negotiable - Mathematics and English preferred
• Valid (Overhead) Crane License & Ability to operate overhead crane
• Ability to be self-directed and multitask
• Ability to lead and manage the performance of others
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure & ability to follow directions
• Timeliness

Job Requirements:
• Fill crane checklist
• Refer Met Slit Plan arrange the paper core
• Check winding roller and clean them at the start of shift
• Clean Nip roll & wrapping stand check
• Identification of Logbooks & arranging job card files Month wise.
• Maintain 5S of Slitter & waste gallery
• Suggest and make at least One Kaizen per month
• Report unsafe conditions and behavior to assist in Zero Safety incident
• Keep Aluminum core on the correct rack and check its condition
• Arrange cores, tapes, bubble film, stretch film and adhesive tapes
• Wrap the slit roll with Stretch film, Metallized film, bubble film
• Arrange the pallets for unloading the rolls
• Metallized film waste control as per target
• Check quality of rolls produced and mark any defect on the roll before placing on feed
• Weighing of Met film waste & record in waste register on shift basis
• Weighing scale calibration on daily basis
• Efficient operation of Conveyor
• Confirm RFID check points before allowing rolls to move into conveyor scale
• Ensure all pallet have RFID tag on them
• Report production at the end of shift to your SIC
