Senior Actuarial Specialist – Reporting & Analytics
Positions in Cape Town, Durban, Sandton

Support the Reporting and Analytics Actuary. Developing the actuarial analysis & reporting capability and the pricing of large group arrangements.

Development and maintenance of tools to analyse actuarial and business data in order to enhance management reporting as well as client reporting
Support in the management of, and reporting on, international pooling arrangements, including review of operating guide
Review and analysis of valuation data, processes and results of group risk products’ performance to gain a deeper understanding and insight into business results and emerging trends
Input into the improvement and development of GAP data and systems
Automation of models and business processes
Pricing of (large) group risk arrangements
Provide technical oversight and support, for group risk products in particular, to finance and servicing areas
Provide technical input and support to other areas within GAP Actuarial, for example product maintenance, risk management, product development and Africa growth strategy.
Training & development of junior actuarial students

Senior actuarial student making good progress with actuarial exams.

Min of 3 years actuarial experience
Strong analytical and technical skills
• Good communication skills and have the ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders
• Highly motivated and energetic self-starter who is good at working with complex tasks under tight deadlines
• Group Assurance pricing experience would be an advantage
• Experience in the Group Risk or Employee Benefits industry would be an advantage
• Experience in using VBA, SQL, R, Tableau or Power BI would be an advantage l8.4o

Appointments may be made at a lower role size depending on experience and exam progress
