Founded in 1906, our Society has been of service to the animals and community for over 100 years. With an area of operation standing at 202,63 km² and servicing a population of 663 157 and 216 114 households and 91 kennels, our dynamic team needs a strong leader to ensure that our Society goes from strength-to-strength. The general manager is at the helm of the administration department, Inspectorate and kennels, supported by highly experienced department heads and staff, as well as a dedicated management committee.

The candidate must be self-motivated, be practical, able to work under pressure and be able to work independently. The candidate must be a team player, have empathy, excellent people skills and must be willing to accept advice and guidance but still take initiative.

Candidates are required to have:
• A passion for animals
• Grade 12 qualification
• Be in possession of a valid South African driver’s license (Code EB advantageous.)
• Be of sober habits
• Good administration skills and be computer literate
• Good communication skills in English and Afrikaans – a third language will be an advantage
• Produce a clean police clearance record
• Public relation skills and conflict resolution
• Strong organisation skills/ability to apply initiative effectively
• Good leadership skills
• The ability to follow instructions
• Possess good time management, communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience working with animals

Qualification as an SPCA Inspector/Senior Inspector will be an advantage.
