We are a small software distributor so there is a real opportunity for a committed person to benefit from the success that the company achieves, as their efforts will have a direct impact on the company’s performance.

We’re looking for someone to make an impact doing software support for the help desk and service management solutions that we supply.

The work would entail implementing the software at customer sites and providing on-going technical support to customers.

The candidate would need to be a quick learner, motivated and confident to deal with clients. They would be working independently most of the time

Onsoft is looking for a Software Support Specialist to provide support for the following software solutions that we supply and support:
BMC Track-It! IT help desk software
BMC FootPrints service management software
BMC Client Management (BCM) software (provides Inventory Management, Remote Control, Patch Management etc functionality) – BCM integrates with both Track-It! and FootPrints.
The following are the key activities required:
Do on-site software implementations for new clients as well as software upgrades for existing clients. This involves installing the software (with links to MS SQL Server and MS Exchange Server), and configuring the solution to meet the business requirements of the client.
Provide user training.
Provide first level technical support to clients via email and telephone, or remote access.
Assist clients with new configuration requests.
Other activities can include conducting pre-sales product demos / presentations with prospective clients (generally via remote access).

The candidate will need to:
Get skilled in the solutions in order to become proficient as soon as possible. This will be based largely on self-learning material.
Be technically inclined. Knowledge of SQL Server, Exchange Server will be beneficial.
Must be self-motivated as will mostly work independently.
Be well organised and prompt and thorough in communicating with clients; analytical in resolving queries.
Enjoy dealing with clients as well as having a high level of professionalism in client interactions, to deliver quality customer service.
Have the ability to understand client requirements and propose suitable solutions.
Be prepared to travel, both in South Africa and to neighbouring countries; a valid passport and driver’s license are required.
