Our client in the retail industry requires the service of a Sourcing Specialist to ensure the overall sourcing function co-ordinates and delivers product to the business that is to specification and to an acceptable quality. The Sourcing Specialist will also be responsible for ensuring the product is delivered on time and at a landed cost that supports the company’s pricing and profitability goals.

Key performance areas:

Purchase Order Management & Negotiation:

? Ensuring effective and efficient specification and negotiation of product purchase orders with Vendors
? Ensuring the timely activities of the sourcing function to achieve business goals
? Management of merchandise sampling approval process through to delivery in an efficient and effective manner
? Coordinating invoicing and payments of product vendors

Vendor Management:

? Ensuring effective communication and relationship management of vendors
? Ensuring effective Vendor assessment/review (including the adding, removal and volume changes of individual vendors) and ongoing purchase order placement balancing between vendors whilst managing the balance of delivered service, price, quality and risk across our vendor base

Sourcing Process:

? Develop and maintain an effective and efficient sourcing process that is understood and accepted by broader merchandise team
? Contribution to the design of products so as to enhance products and to ensure more efficient sourcing requirement and specification

? As a leader you are to positively contribute to the development and maintenance of an effective and supportive teamwork and culture within our office and with other important stakeholders

The successful candidate must have:

? Matric with relevant tertiary qualification
? 2 – 5 Years’ experience in a similar role
? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
? Must be a team player
? Must be accurate and have great attention to detail
? Good leadership skills
? Must be reliable and trustworthy
? Must be able to travel
