• Directs the actuarial functions of the financial services institution.
• Oversees the monitoring, evaluating and reporting of the effectiveness of the existing rating formulae. Approves prospect and renewal rates for experience-rated categories of business.
• Advises management in the selection of major rating assumptions.
• Provides support to the marketing division by participating in the development of new products and meeting with key accounts to present rating/financial information.
• Responsible for managing the activities of a department or function area.
• Consults with clients on specific needs and provides actuarial solutions.
• Oversees the appointed Fund Evaluator if involved in the Pension Fund Industry.
• Performing Statutory Actuary duties for multiple Life Insurance Companies in the cluster – including local regulatory requirements and applying Group principles
• Attention to detail, as well as interacting with Company management and at Board and Audit Committee level will be required
• Supporting the HAF activities (i.e. actuarial committee activities) for entities where the individual is not the statutory actuary
• Product approvals and Product pricing
• Approvals of Actuarial Valuation basis setting and Reserving methodologies
• Inputs into Asset Liability matching and Balance Sheet management activities
• Supporting the Group HAF
• Supporting the implementation of IFRS and Capital management initiatives for the entities
• Travelling to attend in-country Audit & Board meetings will be required

Qualification, Skills and Experience
• Qualified Actuary
• At least 7 years of actuarial working experience
• A Practicing Certificate is not an immediate requirement, but might have to be attained going forward.
• Past working experience in an actuarial valuations and product pricing environment.
• Ability to understand complex or technical concepts
• Advanced Excel skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills in French will be an advantage
