RS Recruitment Services is assisting a large PACKAGING company to recruit a STOCK ANALYST
to be based in MOBENI, DURBAN.
Position Description: Stock Analyst calls for an individual who has an analytical mind, with a strong computer systems knowledge, good financial back ground and the ability to pay very close attention to detail in order to ensure all inventory transactions are processed, discrepancies investigated, all variances analysed. Stock analyst ensures that all teams adhere to the company’s highly disciplined systems and reinforces the commitment that all procedures and control protocols are followed to minimise manufacturing variances, stock losses, customer delivery discrepancies, etc., resulting in accurate financial information and ensuring high performance.
Ideal candidate should possess the following:
Matriculation Certificate
Preferably studying towards a financial qualification.
Experience in inventory systems, processes and controls working in a manufacturing environment.
Possesses strong computer knowledge.
Strong analytical skills and written communication skills for investigation and conclusion of variances and discrepancies.

Ability to work independently and under pressure

Key Responsibilities:
Actions all email messages from the system.
Ensures that supply chain scans the relevant works order for all raw materials issued to the production machines and updated in Sage and the RM data base.
On completion of a works order, ensures that machine operator’s process stock returns for all left over raw materials are recorded in Sage. Follows up to ensure that supply chain team receives the raw materials left over.
Analyses all system over rides, arranges for the correction of BOM’s, reports all abnormal over rides to management for explanation and corrective action.
Reviews all inventory cycle counts, ensures investigations are carried out and stock adjustments approved by management.
On completion of a works order, ensures that machine operator’s process job to job transfers for all left over raw materials are recorded in Sage.
Ensures that all customer delivery discrepancies are investigated prior to the approval by management for the processing of customer credit notes.
Assist in the resolution of all issues emanating from the production tracking system.
Ensures that all works orders are timeously closed by the system or manually. Conduct periodic check on the ageing of all open work orders.
Investigates all manufacturing variances (negative and positive) outside the approved criteria.
Assist in the resolution of all operating issues on computers and scanners.
Ensure the RM Data Base and WMS FGS correlate with Sage at all times. Investigate and report on all discrepancies between the two systems.
Assists the finance team with reconciliation of the balance sheet account and the impact on the P&L.
Daily monitoring of stock systems
Ensures that the criteria and procedures for the annual stock count is followed and all stock discrepancies investigated prior to stock adjustment in Sage.

Remuneration:
R5 000.00 to R7000.00 Negotiable depending on experience and qualifications
