Our client, a leading international Mining Group is looking for an experienced and qualified Superintendent Finance at their Corporate Office in Roodepoort.

Summary:

The role of a Superintendent Finance is to deliver an effective and efficient finance function, through sharing best practice, alignment with Group priorities and engagement with customers.

The appointee should:

Be a qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) in South Africa
Have a minimum of three years appropriate experience at a mining company or have had audit clients in the mining sector, including articles
Have a minimum of two years previous experience with a JSE and NYSE listed organisation
Possess detailed knowledge and understanding of financial standards, policy and practise, including International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
Be competent in consolidation techniques
Be competent in specialised technical accounting skills
In-depth understanding of internal and external, interim and annual reporting requirements and processes
Have experience in a Sarbanes-Oxley control environment
Possess knowledge of JSE Listings Requirements
Have a sound knowledge of the South African Companies Act
Be performance driven, able to work without supervision and pay attention to detail
Exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills in English
Be proficient in using the Microsoft Office package
Demonstrate integrity and above-average interpersonal abilities
Be prepared to work extended hours on an ad-hoc basis
Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Centre

Key responsibilities include:

Achievement against Sibanye-Stillwater’s objectives for the financial reporting and technical accounting function
Share responsibility to the effective performance of the Sibanye-Stillwater Group-wide financial reporting and technical accounting function, comprising:
External and financial reporting
Technical accounting papers
Group accounting policies and procedures manual
Operational and tax accounting
Compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
Financial control and governance in line with Group standards and local statutory requirements
Deliver an effective and efficient finance function, through sharing of best practice, alignment with Group priorities and engagement with customers
Develop and manage relationships with internal and external key stakeholders on matters related to functional responsibilities
Share responsibility for the Sarbanes-Oxley control environment in respect of financial reporting and technical accounting function
Share responsibility for the further enhancement to current systems to ensure continuous improvement in processes and workflows
