You will be responsible to assist the Supply team to ensure that all areas of supply are optimised to support a fast growth trajectory. This includes translating the strategic direction of the company into long term business targets (Budget Plans) across all departments and channels, leveraging off current supply structures and future investments.

Within the context of the Budget Plans, you will work closely with the Department Heads to improve and control the weekly business forecasting, working closely with them to deliver monthly cost budget targets.

Job Duties

1. Opex Management

Ensure granular understanding of past business data points and context to realistically shape future fiscal budget, detailed at a line item, regional and channel level
Align with key stakeholders (Marketing, Sales, Finance and GM) to ensure business buy-in
Be able to adjust and amend figures and assumptions iteratively throughout the fiscal year to adapt to changing internal and external influences

Report on key assumptions, outputs and impacts
Manage spend to plan to ensure adherence to financial targets with no surprises
Approve spend for production, distribution and workshop and ensure spend is within budget
Provide month end accruals for all Supply expenses

2. Capex Management

Identify investment to drive cost saving initiatives
Prepare capex sign off
Effectively manage these investments with ongoing ROI

3. Costing

Manage and maintain cost to produce model
Manage and maintain cost to serve model
Provide ABC costing for NPD projects

4*. COGS Variance Management*

Manage all production variances (work order, method etc): report weekly and implement changes speedily to reduce waste
Inventory management: ensure inventory control and procedures are adhered to.
Manage monthly stock take.

5. Supply KPIs

Nationally optimise supply structure and sites

Identify projects and opportunities to improve the overall supply performance

Implement and drive daily control measures within supply. Ensure these targets are visible to all levels of the supply team. These would include but are not limited to:
Distribution: Casual labour, Overtime, Route Profitability, Vehicles, Customer service levels at agreed OTIF, while ensuring processes are adhered to in order to drive distribution costs down
Production: Casual labour, Overtime, Downtime, TTFP
Workshop: ensure all equipment is tracked and there is a continuous ROI

6. Supply Team alignment, buy-in and focus against key strategic focus areas enabling the acceleration of the business plan and supply objectives

Driving focus areas across the supply team
Collaborate on ad hoc projects to close out supply opportunities

Requirements:

Strong problem solving and analytical skills, including budgeting, forecasting and costing techniques and applications
Experience in Supply and Supplier / Market insights
High level of business acumen, with a focus on commercial metrics underpinning supply numbers
Action and detail-oriented, with a strong drive for results
Focused and able to identify priorities and value-add workstreams
Effectively influences the business to make the right strategic and commercial decisions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Education and Experience:

Tertiary Degree
Minimum 8 years’ commercial and supply (manufacturing and distribution) experience
5+ years’ experience in trade (on and off consumption) environments
Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting and cost management as well as generating insights and actions from disparate data sets
