Job Description:

Staff management such as, recruiting suitable casuals, conducting interviews, compile month and year shift rosters and organize training sessions.
Meet and greet guests upon arrival and conduct wine tastings
Responsible for the day to day operations in the tasting room, including, but not limited to the following:
Manage administrative tasks such as daily reconciliation of cash-ups, all end of month reports, daily stocktake and ordering of miscellaneous items
Create décor & display image of the facility as well as looking after the general maintenance of the tasting room
Support and monitor the tasting room areas to ensure that yearly budget projections are achieved
Assist with hospitality at special events and functions on and off the farm
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to follow through on projects with minimal supervision
Interact effectively with staff and other departments within the winery as well as agencies/vendors/customers
• Social Media Correspondent
Promote brand awareness and customer service through the social media networks
Collaborate with other teams, like marketing, sales and customer service to ensure brand consistency
Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner and monitor customer reviews
Suggest and implement new features to develop brand awareness, like promotions and competitions

Qualifications:

Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Cape Wine Academy Accreditation and front of house/hospitality certification would be in the candidate’s advantage, but is not essential
Valid driver’s license and own transport essential
The ability to pay attention to detail, work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
Follow instructions from superiors and execute duties diligently and professionally
Strong customer service skills, target driven and show initiative to increase sales
This position requires the candidate to work at least 2 Saturdays per month with off days allocated as per management, certain public holidays and at wine shows and festivals.
