Team Leader: Operations – Logistics

Location: Pietermaritzburg, KZN
Salary: Negotiable

About the Role:
To manage your assigned team of expeditors to ensure the on-time deliveries, correct scheduling and accurate estimated time of arrivals for customer loads. Accurate Communication with regards Loading/offloading points.

Requirements:
Logistics qualification
Advanced excel
Excellent communication skills
Experienced in working with planning and truck management software
Experienced in fleet management
Experienced in managing a team & communicating with drivers
Maintaining discipline & productivity
Customer focussed
Systems Used: Excel, Word, Email, Plato and Smartsheets

Duties:
Ensure all loads are correctly assigned and continuously managed and updated
Ensuring routing plan, vehicle and driver allocation is correct
Ensure designated team of expeditors track, monitor and adjust loads according to customer KPI’s and business needs
Ensure expeditors are in continuous communications with drivers via telephone or SMS with regards deliveries
Ensure driver fatigue is managed as per company regulations by the respective expeditors 2.
Responsible for ensuring expeditors provide the Customer Call Centre with accurate ETA's and timely updates
Ensure all relevant departments or informed on incidents that require escalation
Responsible for the effective and appropriate handover of shift
Manage all unauthorized stops & out-of-route discrepancies and report to Ops Manager
Ensure your team respond accordingly to fleet alarms from the risk monitoring company.
Ensure smooth operation of administrative task with weekly feedback
Maintain all ISO: 9001 - 2015 documents in accordance with Control of Documents Procedure
Any other duties or ad hock tasks requested by Supervisor / Director
Ensure issues/challenges which are not able to be resolved by your respective team is promptly escalated to the Operations Manager.
Drive On-time Deliveries for your team to be above 98.5%
