The Purpose:
The Branch Manager is accountable to the National Sales Manager with regards to all his/her functions. It is the responsibility of the Branch Manager to implement the business plan efficiently so to meet the branch objectives by managing the sales turnover, product mix cost and staff.
Responsibilities:
The Branch Manager’s main duties include inter alia the following: -
? Ensuring that all tenders relevant to the area is submitted to the Tender Department
? Managing the sales activities of the branch within the parameters of the set sales and expense budgets.
? Directing and supervising the activities of the staff in line with Company policy and management requirements.
? Motivation, management and moral of staff.
? Recommend the opening or closing of accounts.
? Inform Management of all market/competitor’s activities and trends, which have a bearing on our business.
? Security and general state of company cars, property or equipment held or used by the sales staff.
? Drawing up of sales call plans to maximise sales activities and efficiency.
? Profitably increase the Market Share of Products and Systems.
? Achieve the prescribed sales through established partner networks and direct accounts, achieve sales budget objectives and targets for the financial year and monitor performance of sales team against laid down targets and budgets.
? Recommendation of customer training and provide product training and support to S.I’s, and direct accounts.
? To maintain expertise across the range of products and participate in the introduction of new products
? To communicate market intelligence/industry competitive trends as well as commercial issues to the National Sales Manager.
? Ensuring that the Sales team are adhering to call plans they submit on the Intranet to enable Management to generate reports.
? Hold regular meetings with sales staff to ensure that they are directing their efforts correctly and are operating within the boundaries of the Company’s marketing policy and ensure the Intranet Customer Budget vs Sales is populated as required.
? Monthly visits to all regions falling in your realm of responsibility.
? Recommendation of pricing for all “special projects” in your area to the National Sales Manager
? Recommendation and assistance with implementation/participation of promotions and exhibitions and social events etc.
? Accurate stock control in the Branch
Qualifications & Experience:
? Grade 12
? Relevant Technical Qualification or Business-Related Diploma or Degree
? 3-5 years’ Managerial experience
? Knowledge of HR and Admin
? Knowledge of electrical products, sales activities & sales procedures
? Extensive knowledge of planning, development and growth targets
? Extensive knowledge of pricing of contracts and the updating, monitoring and control for the sales and marketing strategy
