Technical Compliance Officer

Overview:
The Compliance Officer is ultimately responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the Internal QMS, regulatory compliance of the packaging, labelling, and shipping of all products, creation and maintenance of data sheets and maintenance, and control of certificates.

Duties:
Key Performance Areas:
• Ensure adequate Quality Control measures are in place for all products and processes
• Set and maintain standards and specifications for all products
• Establish and maintain the colour database as well as broadening the tinting capabilities, specifically the export market
• Maintain safety standards in the lab
• Review and update Standard Operating Procedures
• Be responsible for Compuchem and Hibiscus software
• Maintenance of all TDS and SDS
• Final approval of technical briefs for new and revised packaging artworks
• Stay up to date on and implement all chemical and associated regulations
• Facilitate external testing of products when required
• Deal with non-conformances and customer complaints
• Keep control of COA’s, COC’s, COO’s and other administrative functions as per customer requirements
• Maintain an approved database of key raw material substitutes
• Assist with reducing all waste
• Attend weekly Production Meetings

Qualifications and experience:
• Relevant chemical and/or quality qualifications
• At least 5 years’ previous QMS experience
• Previous technical experience in the Coatings industry will be beneficial
• Knowledge of relevant regulations
