Key purpose of role:
• Responsible for the maintenance portfolio of the facilities and business objectives regarding the day to day operations are met
• Manage the overall technical maintenance and repair operations for large retail stores, HVAC maintenance as the main component of the contract, while secondary components include electrical, mechanical and building fabric to ensure service delivery,
• Implement tactical strategies and control mechanisms to achieve the business objectives, increasing efficiency and minimising the risk of loss and noncompliance which may impact on company profits.
• Ensure Planned Maintenance and repair works are carried out in line with the SLA and in line with operational rules.

Key Responsibilities will include
• Management and performance of Technical Facilities Managers, Technical Coordinators, Health & Safety Officer and Helpdesk / Administration staff
• Management of sub-contractors
• Management of procurement contracts with vendors / contractors for the requisition of supplies, materials and inventory maintenance in accordance with SLA’s
• Management the financial component of the contract
• Provision of regular reports on all aspects pertaining to maintenance
• Responsible for ensuring Health and Safety is as primary function and all mechanisms, processes and procedures are in place and monitored and adhered to at all times in line with ISO9000 & ISO18000
• Ensure building Regulations and environmental legislation and standards are adhered to.
• Review all SLA’s entered into with eternal service providers
• Develop effective customer focussed and proactive relationships at all levels in the customer chain

Key Requirements
• Min Grade 12
• Relevant Technical / Engineering qualification (air conditioning, electrical, mechanical)
• In depth knowledge of Facilities Management Skills (previous HVAC management experience essential) with min 10 years previous experience in a technical/engineering environment with proven track record in managing multiple buildings
• Financial systems knowledge and reporting thereof
• Procurement knowledge and experience
• Sound knowledge of OHSA and Environmental legislative Act, Building regulations, and applicable Labour Relations Acts
• Must be familiar with ISO9001 & 18001 systems
• Must be computer literate in MSOffice suite
• Must have own Transport
• Valid drivers licence
• Willing and flexible to work extended hours and/or outside of normal working hours where required
