Responsibilities:

The incumbent will manage and lead the security team within the Networks and Telephony Department. Special focus will be given to cyber security and participation in the creation of effective cyber security policies. These policies will need to be enforced and monitored.

The ongoing role of monitoring and optimisation of security devices such as firewalls and VPN devices on the perimeter and within the organization.

Minimum Requirements:
• National Diploma (IT/Computer Science) or equivalent NQF 6
• 1 -2 Years Network Security Experience
• Recognised vendor certification of firewalls – i.e. Fortigate
• Experience with firewalls and other security technologies
• Good knowledge of TCP/IP networking and Internet protocols
• Knowledge of network analysis tools, e.g. Wireshark

• ITIL

The key management areas, in order to contribute to the management of the Network Security Unit:
• Reporting of all incidents to relevant parties
• Taking action on hacking attempts and security events
• Liaising with Clients on all Security related events and fault resolutions
• Fault Management
• Cross collaboration with all levels within the Organization
• Monitor all areas relating to ICT security for policy transgressions and or intrusion attempts
o This includes, Internet, email, network and application usage
Provide Support
• Administration of the cyber security solutions
• Administration of firewalls and UTM solutions
• Administration of Intrusion Prevention Systems
• Administration web content filtering
• Administration of VPN
• Administration of WAN and Internet connectivity
• Administration of LAN and Wi-Fi security
