Introduction:
Small to medium sized business based in the South of Johannesburg is looking to employ a qualified toolmaker to manufacture new tooling and service and repair existing tooling.

Educational Requirements:
Formal Education: Qualified Artisan – Tool, Jig and Die-Maker.
Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience in similar role.
Language: English/Afrikaans

Main Objective:
Responsible for the manufacture of new press and fine blanking tools and service and repair of existing tooling.

Main Responsibilities:
Service and repair existing conventional and fine blanking tools.
Manufacture spares for existing tools.
Manufacture new conventional and fine blanking tooling, jigs and fixtures.
Ensure the toolroom equipment are maintained and in good, safe operational condition.

Requirements:
Have a firm understanding of press tools and metal stamping / blanking process.
Must be proficient with milling, turning, grinding.
Must be able to read and interpret drawings.
Use measure equipment to close tolerances.
Successful candidate must be able to work under immense pressure.
Must have an organised systematic approach.
Must have own reliable transport.

Must be willing to be trained in:
The understanding of fine blanking tools and the fine blanking process.
CNC Programming and Setting skills.
Wire Cutting and Spark Eroding skills.
CAM / CAD software.

General Commitments:
Perform any other duties, which may reasonably be expected of the position.
Willingness to work weekends, overtime, public holidays as and when expected.
Develop an expert knowledge of the industry and utilise it to enhance and develop the efficiency of the organisation with service to the members as main criteria.
Adhere at all times to the objectives policies and regulations of the organisation and promote its activities in general.
