Toolmaker – Press Tools

Introduction:
Small to medium sized business based in the South of Johannesburg is looking to employ a qualified toolmaker to manufacture new tooling and service and repair existing tooling.

Educational Requirements:
Formal Education: Qualified Artisan – Tool, Jig and Die-Maker.
Experience: Minimum 3 years experience in similar role.
Language: English/Afrikaans

Main Objective:
Responsible for the manufacture of new press tools and service and repair of existing press tools.

Main Responsibilities:
Service and repair existing press tools.
Manufacture spares for existing press tools.
Manufacture new press tooling, jigs and fixtures.
Ensure the toolroom equipment are maintained and in good, safe operational condition.

Requirements:
Have a firm understanding of press tools and metal stamping / blanking process.
Must be proficient with milling, turning, grinding.
Must be able to read and interpret drawings.
Use measure equipment to close tolerances.
Successful candidate must be able to work under immense pressure.
Must have an organised systematic approach.
Must have own reliable transport.

Additional Requirements:
Understanding of fine blanking tools and the fine blanking process.
CNC Programming and Setting skills.
Wire Cutting and Spark Eroding skills.
CAM / CAD software experience.
