TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
Market related (middle to senior level role)
Cape Town

We currently have the above vacancy and wish to invite suitably qualified applicants to submit their details for our consideration. This position will be based in Cape Town (Northern Suburbs), Western Cape. This role is within an engineering / manufacturing company. This ideal candidate will have a solid track record, skills and experience in managing Training and Development. Idealy form a manufacturing or similar industry background. We are looking for a dynamic person who would be able to work in a diversified and fast-paced environment. Reporting to the HR Executive. This is an Employment Equity role.

QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE:
•Minimum 4 to 5 years’ experience in management of Training and Development
•Tertiary Education - Degree in Social Sciences/Industrial Psychology/Human Resources/Training & Development
•Grade 12 or equivalent
•Excellent computer Literacy in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
•Ability to work in a pressurized environment
•Good planning and organizational skills
•Ability to work independently and in a team
•Full knowledge and understanding of Training & related legislation and structures
•Knowledge and understanding of the following legislation; EE Act, SD Act and OHSA;
•Ability to converse in English, Afrikaans and isiXhosa would be an added advantage;
•Excellent communication, presentation and facilitation skills

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
•Work closely with business units to assess existing and future employee development requirements
•Manage and maintain accurate and detailed records of all training completed and expenses incurred.
•Management of all legislative training
•Manage all training and development requirements and needs for business
•Provide training on internal company policies and procedures
•Develop and implement programs at work that connect employees with business goals, values and objectives
•Manage and develop methods of measuring if performance management aligns with organizational objectives
•Manage and facilitate conflict resolution workshops for business units
•Manage and maintain succession planning initiatives
•Create and maintain manuals and develop training programmes in line with the company’s operational objectives
•Facilitate organizational change and effectiveness
•Enhance and entrench a high performance culture
•Contribute to Organization’s strategic management process
•Manage the implementation of equity and diversity strategy
