The human capital department requires a committed, experienced and motivated Training and Development Officer to join their team. The successful candidate will plan legislative and development training, consult with internal and external stakeholders and efficiently organize training needs for the organization. Together with the Training Manager, the successful candidate will assist with training initiatives and programmes for the Group. This position requires a dynamic individual who is able to work in a diversified and fast-paced environment.

Experience:

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Tertiary Education - National Diploma/Degree in Social Sciences/Industrial Psychology/Human Resources/Training & Development
• Organizational Development experience advantageous
• Excellent computer Literacy in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
• Ability to work in a pressurized environment
• Good planning and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Full knowledge and understanding of Training & related legislation and structures
• Knowledge and understanding of the following legislation; EE Act, SD Act and OHSA;
• Ability to converse in English, Afrikaans and isiXhosa would be an added advantage;
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills

Responsibilities

• Work closely with business units to assess existing and future employee development requirements
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all training completed, expenses incurred, etc.
• Generate and submit legislative training reports as required
• Schedule and coordinate machine operator/soft skills/ABET/team building/wellness training/ & workshops amongst others
• Provide training on internal company policies and procedures
• Create and implement programs at work that connect employees with business goals
• Assist with onboarding of new employees by facilitating Induction and orientation
• Create and maintain succession planning initiatives
• Maintain manuals and training programmes in line with the company’s operational objectives
• Facilitate organizational change and effectiveness
• Enhance and entrench a high performance culture
• Contribute to Organization’s strategic management process
• Assist with the implementation of equity and diversity strategy
