Our client, in the retail industry, requires the service of a Transport Scheduler who has a good understanding and balance in the various limitations of supply chain. The Transport Scheduler will be responsible for producing cost effective and operation efficient transportation and operational plans that will provide the client with the right product, in the right condition and on-time while having a good condition.

Key performance areas:

? Transport route scheduling and optimisation
? System management (relevant within the operational and transport environment)
? Daily plan extractions
? Process improvement and supply chain coordination between transportation and DCs operations
? Analyse planning and operational efficiencies
? Manage planning related aspects pertaining to store openings and closures
? Resolving of branch related queries within the planning (and related departments) scope
? Client service and communication

The successful candidate must have:

? Matric with a relevant Degree in Logistics/ Engineering/ Statistics
? At least 2 years route scheduling experience in an FMCG environment or related experience
? Knowledge DC operations
? Excellent computer literacy (Google Suite / Microsoft packages / SAP Retail or similar ERP System)
? Working knowledge of Infor WMS 2000 Warehouse Management System (or similar WMS) and TMS (Transport management Systems) experience will be advantageous.
? Working knowledge of Ortec Routing and Distribution system (or related route optimization software)
? Must be willing to work shifts
