Our client, a leading international Mining Group is looking for an experienced and qualified Unit Manager Engineering for their Gold Segment near Westonaria.
Summary:
The role of a Unit Manager Engineering is managing of surface infrastructure e.g. Compressors, Refrigeration, Bulk Air Coolers, Services Supply, Water Supply, Effluent Management, Structures, Salvage, Property.
The appointee should:
Have an Engineering related degree – BSC Engineering / Diploma and Government Certificate of Competency
Have Five years post Engineering qualification experience
Be a self-starter, motivated, be results orientated and pay attention to detail
Possess working knowledge of the BCEA / LRA
Be computer literate in Microsoft Office
Successfully undergo security screening
Demonstrate integrity and above-average interpersonal abilities
Exhibit good oral and written communication skills in English
Be prepared to work extended hours on an ad hoc basis
Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at a relevant Sibanye-Stillwater Occupational Health Centre
Advantageous requirements:
Experience in major machinery and mine services e.g. Compressors, Refrigeration, Pumping Effluent plants
Property Management: High and Low density
Project Management experience.
Knowledge on Environmental requirements within mining area e.g. water management
Registered with an relevant affiliation
Key responsibilities include:
Appointment in accordance with Regulation 2.13.1 or 2.13.3.1 for the Safe Maintenance and Operation of Machinery
Managing of surface infrastructure e.g. Compressors, Refrigeration, Bulk Air Coolers, Services Supply, Water Supply, Effluent Management, Structures, Salvage, Property
Ensuring legal compliance, implement Policies and Procedures
Identify, implement and manage policies, practices, systems and technologies
Budget planning and financial control
Resource capacity planning and development
Quality control
Ensure maintenance to standard
Ensure the operational compliance
Driving strategic engineering programmes and projects in line with the Group’s Policy
Environmental management and compliance on the surface area of responsibility
Liaison with local municipalities, on relevant services
Contractor management
