PURPOSE OF POSITION:
To lead and manage the total activities within manufacturing packaging units, from raw materials management to finished goods delivery, in order to ensure supply of product to customers.
RESPONSIBILITY KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL
SAFETY
Manage achievement of units safety KPA's
Ensure compliance to health and safety acts, policies, procedures, SOP's and agreements ISO 14001
QEHS

Do hazard identification and risk assessment
HIRA [Hazard Identification Risk Assessment]
Participate in health and safety reviews and audits
Manage compliance to emergency procedures
Maintain health and safety processes
Health and safety training
Enforce correct use of PPE and safety devices in the unit
Lead health and safety incident investigations
Certified as incident / accident investigators
Lead accident investigations
Ensure closure of all non conformances [NCR's]-NCR process

QUALITY

Drive achievement of Unit Quality KPA's
Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 - ISO 9001
ISO 22000
Ensure ISO 22000 & ISO 9001 & GMP training is provided
Enforce quality procedures, SOP's and check sheets are prepared and in use
Document control procedure
Liaise with suppliers
Ensure raw material specifications are developed and in place
Lead risk Assessments HCCP
Ensure quality emergency procedures are developed and used
Ensure inline and off line quality measuring equipment available and in place
Ensure required samples are taken in packaging
Ensure required Micro analysis are performed

COST MANAGE BUDGETS
Manage achievement of Unit's cost KPA
Participate in setting new budget for packaging
Budget setting and forecasting process
Manage and report on budget for own area of responsibility
Provide input to and execute the weekly production plan & schedule
Provide input and report on daily production plan and schedule
Manage unit schedule adherence and plan attainment and solve problems
Execute new product development

DELIVERY PURCHASING

Adhere to supplier approval process
HACCP supplier approval procedure
Ensure raw materials availability are in line with the units production requirements
Adhere to supplier quotation process
Prepare purchase requisitions and request purchase orders MRP system
Ensure purchase orders are generated
Ensure purchase orders are followed up with suppliers
Manage supplier discrepancies

DELIVERY MANAGE RAW MATERIALS

Ensure raw material and packaging quality and quantity management for the unit
Ensure stock receipt management for the unit
SAP
Ensure correct raw materials and storage at the unit
Warehousing practices
Participate in warehouse space optimisation
Initiate FI and A1 process to return non conforming stock to suppliers
Ensure stock issue management
Manage FLT drivers for the unit
Ensure all unused stock on the unit is prepacked
Ensure all unused stock is returned to raw material stores
Ensure unused material returned from the unit is counted and validated
Receive, review and action stock return SAP documentation
Ensure correct stacking of returned raw materials in designated bays
Ensure stock managed Stock take procedure
Investigate and correct variances
Ensure correct stock results are posted
