Sovereign Foods, a national supplier of top quality locally produced chicken products to the SA market via various brands, is seeking to employ Warehouse & Transport Manager for its operations in Uitenhage.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and interested candidates for this position at the Commercial Division. The Warehouse & Transport Manager is responsible for managing the Frozen Warehouse operations, delivering excellent service to internal and external customers by means of proven logistical systems, maintaining standards, processes and costs within budgeted parameters and daily communication with various role players.

A tertiary degree in a field related to Warehousing and 3 years’ management experience with a large scale Warehouse operation, is required.

Results Required:

• Maintain Departmental costs to within budget
• Stock Management through daily stock recons, cycle counting, stock counts and stock aging reporting
• Maintain accurate monitoring of stock quality at points of transfer
• Match stock on hand and produced stock to enable on-time loading of delivery vehicles
• Take corrective action to ensure on time production of orders
• Communicate expected/actual arrival times of inbound trucks to all Warehouse Staff
• Maintain outgoing stock quality standards
• Execute the daily customer delivery plan
• Build strong relationships with Customers and Transport Providers and their staff
• Adhere to Health and Safety, ISO and HACCP standards
• Manage the maintenance of all Warehouse equipment
• Manage and develop subordinates
