Position Summary

My client is looking for a creative thinker with a good understanding of user interface design and development (web and mobile) to join their growing design and marketing team. It must be someone passionate about keeping up with UI design trends and processes, and keen to grow their design and technical skills.

This person will be responsible for working with the marketing team, and should therefore be good at interpreting design briefs and bringing across brand identity in their work. The role includes the end-to-end design process for both mobile and web, including user research and prototyping. The role also includes building the designs into responsive, SEO-optimised websites.

The ideal candidate should also have a strong sense of design principles and the design process. They must be able to work independently and manage their own web projects.
You will need
• A relevant degree or qualification in UI/UX Design, Multimedia Design or Web Development
• 1-2 years of experience required in relevant web design field
• A portfolio showcasing your creative work
• A basic understanding of HTML and CS
• Good understand of mobile-friendly responsive design
• A clear understanding of, and experience in the process involved in designing an intuitive and stylish user interface
• Experience in copy writing for Web
• Intermediate knowledge of the Microsoft Suite: Specifically – Word and PowerPoint

You will stand out if you also have the following
1. Experience in Adobe CC Suite – specifically in InDesign, Photoshop
2. Experience in SEO
3. Experience in working with WordPress Admin Interface to build websites
4. Any additional coding experience in front-end languages and frameworks, such as jQuery, SASS, Bootstrap
5. Experience in working with User Interface Design and Prototyping Software (for example: InVision, UXPin, Sketch, etc.)
6. Experience creating email templates using MailChimp

Your role responsibilities
• Interpret design briefs
• You will conduct user research
• You will plan the story/narrative/copy of web pages
• You will draw up wireframes to illustrate your user research findings and narrative
• You will create user high-fidelity user interface designs and interactive prototype click-throughs for mobile and web
• Communicate and present your designs
• You will build responsive, SEO-friendly websites using tools and frameworks such as WordPress, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Bootstrap
• You will create and write MailChimp templates for our email campaigns to clients
• You will also assist in monthly content planning for the company blogs
