Job description:

A unique opportunity to join a JSE listed financial organisation that continually delivers excellent results and growth that exceed all competitors in the market. We are looking for an experienced Recoveries and Liabilities Specialist to join the Western National Insurance division. The incumbent will contribute to the organisational goals by generating maximum savings, preventing fraud, and managing expenditure through the validation of third party (TP) claims by using expert abilities.

Responsibilities:
• Savings in TP liability claims, recoveries, and legal costs
• Accurate administration of TP recovery and liability claims
• Validation of TP claims by investigating, applying expertise, utilising resources (e.g., police, supplier etc.) and interviewing customers as well as other parties
• Enable effective costing of claims through ensuring professional, thorough administration of TP claims
• Maintain an acceptable claims expenditure ratio (rejection, savings etc.) by validating and investigating TP claims accurately or in accordance with the service level agreement
• Contributing to optimise work practices and procedures by maintaining an acceptable workload
• Uphold agreed service level agreements (set turnaround times) and ensuring customer satisfaction and retention
• Effectively build, maintain, and manage relationships with service providers and suppliers, colleagues, internal
• Deliver the Western National “service way” through personal effort and through others
• Deliver on Treating Customers Fairly principles in alignment with regulatory requirements
• Validate factual information on TP claims
• Investigate merits identified
• Negotiation critical with Insurance Industry
• Compile report with recommendation
• Feedback by short interval controls

Minimum Requirements & Skillset:
• Legal degree
• Full qualification (Commercial Lines): NQF4 150 credits (Short-term Insurance) advantageous
• RE 5 advantageous
• Short term insurance industry knowledge and experience
• Basic legal understanding
