Klerksdorp, a city and administrative district, is located in the North West Province of South Africa. Today, the greater city area of Klerksdorp incorporates the towns of Orkney, Kanana, Stilfontein, Khuma, Hartbeesfontein and Tigane. This gives Klerksdorp a population of more than 350 000 inhabitants. Klerksdorp and Rustenburg form the economic heart of the North West Province. Some of Klerksdorp's main attractions include Mining shafts excavated in the 1880's, The Klerksdorp Museum, The Faan Meintjies Nature Reserve, The Oudorp Hiking Trail, Goudkoppie (Gold Hill), and The Klerksdorp Dam.
