To whom it may concern, I have seen the advertisement for the post of an Accountant in your company on online and would like to provide you with my details for your record. I completed my high school education in Port Elizabeth at Victoria Park High School in 2010. This is where I would say I got the most influence as to which career path I would explore and being defined to become a responsible, mature adult. I enrolled at Nelson Mandela University right after and completed my degree in General Accounting in 2014. The bulk of the knowledge I have regarding the various accounting fields was gained through my education at this institution. It instilled a great deal of independence and self-sufficiency in me being thrown in the deep end in terms of being in charge of my own learning experience and what I will gain from it. I then moved into the working world in 2015 as a trainee Accountant at Moore Stephans WK Incorporated. The integration part for me was the hardest because it was not as simple as opening a textbook for the answers but rather using that knowledge to complete the given task. It also taught me the need to sometimes perform under pressure as time budgets were applied and targets were placed on me in terms what I produce each month. I would also often have go above and beyond what was expected of me in terms of my output. I worked at a smaller civil construction company called ThembiZolani Trading Entreprises CC as of July 2017 till 8 October 2018 as their accountant and it was been a great learning experience. With my previous job, we worked primarily with farming and small businesses, so this was a brand new industry for me. Working at this company has re-enforced my need for independence and being self-sufficient at times. It also has taught me the different roles that each business function plays in ensuring the longevity and sustainability of the business.
