I am an experienced Audit, Risk, Fraud and Governance professional with 16 years of experience. I am experienced in the Higher Education Sector, National Government and the private sector and have a clear understanding of these sector's opportunities, risk and challenges. I was appointed at Cape Peninsula University of Technology as the Chief Audit Executive to set up an internal audit function and occupied this post for the period 1 Oct 2015 until 30 September 2019. I was also concurrently managing the risk portfolio of the university for a period of 3 years. Before I joined the University I was the Director, Compliance and Forensic Audit at the dti and was employed at the dti for a period of 10 years. During this period I gained a wealth of experience in conducting complex forensic investigations, interacting on Ministerial level and working under tremendous pressure.
