OVERVIEW:

• Our petrochemical client is looking for a Design Engineer on contract based at SAPREF Durban.
• You will be there to apply cost competitive execution techniques to develop the most cost-efficient total project solution for execution of the discipline engineering work.
• To develop and review project Scope of Services, Scope of Facilities, and other project baseline documents for all phases of projects.
• To develop and review estimates and schedules, progress reports to include manpower forecasts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• BSc / BTech in Mechanical Engineering & registration with ECSA as Pr. Eng / Pr. Tech Eng
• 8 years of work-related experience

SKILLS:

• Adaptability
• Ability to perform under pressure
• Work effectively as part of a multi-discipline team on multiple projects simultaneously
• Good planning skills

KNOWLEDGE:

• Computer based design software (PVElite / Compress)
• AutoCAD knowledge advantageous
• Office software package
• Extensive knowledge of pressure vessel, heat exchanger, and tank design codes (ASME, PD 5500, TEMA, BS EN 14015, API 650, API 579 etc.)
