The client is a leading International Law Firm’s based in Sandton CBD.  You are required To provide business development support to practice and sector area fee earners, develop and grow their practices, profile their offering, retain and attain new clients.

The employer (my client) is a well-established and highly recognised leading global LAW FIRM (UK Based Head Office) with the shared serviced centre based in Sandton CBD, the employer has over 40 offices in: Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and the United States

Requirements and overview:

  • Matric 
  • Minimum 5 – 8 years in marketing, business development and events.
  • Marketing degree or relevant qualification
  • Writing and presentation skills
  • Law firm working experience an advantage

 

Your daily responsibilities will be the following, however not limited to

 

  • Working with practice area leaders, partners and M&BD teams to strategically write and develop practice area business plans.
  • Working with practice area leaders, partners and M&BD teams to implement practice area business plans.
  • Regularly meet with practice area leaders and partners to monitor M&BD business plan progress and implementation.
  • Research marketing and business development opportunities.
  • Obtain a brief on a pitch opportunity.
  • Collate information from various sources to be included in pitch proposals.
  • Edit and write content for pitch proposals.
  • Conduct pre-pitch preparations and post-pitch analysis.
  • Attend to queries from international M&BD teams for pitches, business development and marketing campaigns/initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Africa practice on business development activities as and when required.
  • Oversee and coordinate key legal directory submissions for assigned practice areas.
  • Manage and contribute to wider M&BD projects as and when required.
  • Attend international and local M&BD calls and meetings.
  • Develop an understanding of and apply best practice procedures and protocols to pitching and client development.
  • Assist with firm/practice area seminars.
  • Assist with firm/practice area client events.
  • Compile and write M&BD reports.
  • Work on client development programmes and plans.
  • Develop and manage budgets for key M&BD activities or firm-wide events and projects.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members as a means to transfer knowledge and skills.
