Project manager specialising in project planning and control of major projects. I was employed as senior planner at a global consulting firm for 10,5 years where I was either part of teams or solely responsible for schedule development, monitoring and reporting of predominantly multi-billion Rand projects within the Major Projects and later Energy divisions. The exposure gained has broadened my thinking and approach, which has more recently led to completing Manchester University’s prestigious Global MBA Project Management in 2017. Challenges are opportunities for growth both personally and professionally. Open, honest and clear communication have proven valuable in carrying out work and building relationships. I believe project delivery requires a whole system approach involving the entire team. Due to the confidential nature of many projects I have been involved in, my strong work ethic and honesty has allowed me to be tasked with increasingly larger, more complex projects where a professional and strategic approach is paramount to success. Striving for excellence in everything I take on, I have also served as a Johannesburg branch executive committee member of the PMSA (Project Management Institute of South Africa) and have also been invited to speak at conferences within the engineering sector and contributed to an article in the first edition of The Project Manager magazine. I have also enjoyed opportunities to transfer skills and mentor aspiring planners over the years.
