Accountant – Medical Aid Industry

Location: Observatory, Cape Town
Salary: R240k per annum

About the Role:
Opportunity available in the finance division for an experienced Accountant with previous experience in the Financial Services Industry, preferably within a medical scheme. Due to the company’s BBEEE Policy, only South African candidates can be considered.

Requirements:
Relevant Accounting Qualification
2 - 3 years relevant work experience as an Accountant fulfilling all functions below
MS Excel
Experience in Accounting Packages – company uses inhouse package
Fluent in English and ideally Afrikaans

Duties:
Cashbook preparation and reconciliations
Debtors and creditors reconciliations
Trial balance preparation
Preparation of management accounts
Management account reconciliations
Report writing
Treasury functions
Preparation of Annual Financial Statements
Statutory reports and returns
