Our client from Wolseley is looking for a driven, enthusiastic and efficient Accountant to assist them in keeping their finger on the economic pulse of the organisation.

Job Description:

Maintain the financial health of the organization.
Oversee operations of the finance department, set goals and objectives, and design a framework for these to be met.
Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to the Financial Director      while recommending further courses of action.
Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans.
Investigate the variances vs Budget and vs Previous year.
Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
Continuously improve and implement reporting standards (for example the use of KPI’s, efficiency in reporting).
Creating monthly reports.
Liase with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained.
Ensure debtors are valid and accurate, within payment terms, aged appropriately.
Ensure creditors are complete and accurate.
Ensure bank accounts are reconciled at least 3 times a week.
Ensure asset register is up to date, with correct allocations, projects and depreciation.
Keep lease and loans records up to date.
Monthly updates on financial system to all assets and liabilities held in foreign currency.
Ensure that all Statutory and SARS returns are submitted, reconciled and paid on time.
Report actual costs against budgeted costs.
Load and co-approve payments to suppliers below a certain amount
Ensure internal controls are up to date, improved and implemented and trained.
Manage the preparation of the company’s budget.
Ensure that budgets are consistent/in line with actual sale/cost development, market conditions, strategic and operational actions planned
Develop and improve financial reporting to management.
All other financial tasks that may be required from time to time to assist management.

Qualifications:

A financial qualification.
In depth knowledge of accounting and financial standards.
Knowledge of all the legislation, standards, policies and procedures mentioned in this
document.
Understanding systems like: SAP and Evolution
