About the role

As an Active Directory Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing and maintaining our client’s Active Directory infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure the smooth operation of our directory services, user authentication, and identity management solutions. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance security, optimize performance, and troubleshoot issues related to Active Directory.

Responsibilities
Active Directory Administration: Create, modify, and delete user accounts, groups, computer accounts, and organizational units (OUs) within the Active Directory domain.
Manage permissions, access controls, and security policies. Troubleshoot authentication and LDAP configuration issues.
Configure and support DNS for new domains.
Monitor and maintain Active Directory health.
Infrastructure Support: Troubleshoot DNS service and resolution issues.
Assist in managing internal and external DNS systems.
Collaborate with the Windows Active Directory Domain Administrator Support Team to provide timely and efficient support.
Work with senior staff to resolve escalated incidents.
Identity Management Solutions: Continuously seek opportunities to improve existing Active Directory and Exchange architecture.
Research and address technical challenges related to email retention, cluster communication, and public folder replication.

Education:
Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
Relevant certifications such as MCSE, MCSA, ITIL, or VCP.
Experience:
Hands-on experience with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, and Group Policies.
Familiarity with Quest, Active Roles, Change Auditor, GPOADmin, Recovery Manager for Active Directory, and SilverFort.
Knowledge of DoD hardening and security compliance auditing.
Documentation skills and information security awareness.
Ability to configure and manage UNIX and Windows operating systems.

Desired Skills and Experience
Familiarity with PKI (Public Key Infrastructure).
Understanding of fundamental concepts and technologies associated with Windows Systems Support.
Previous experience in managing Active Directory in a multi-domain environment.
Exposure to large-scale AD deployments and migrations.
