My client is looking for a Manager to look after the African market in International Logistics.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Agent Performance: Manage the network of African clearing and forwarding agents, ensuring top-notch performance and fostering trust
Risk Management: Proactively identify and resolve shipping, customs, and documentation challenges to mitigate potential risks..
Trade Compliance: Stay up-to-date with African countries’ regulations and customs laws.
Market Insights: Keep track of market trends, competitor strategies, and changes in African trade dynamics.
Problem-Solving: Tackle logistical issues head-on and optimize routes for efficient operations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Tertiary qualification in the international supply chain (essential) and a management post-graduate qualification (advantageous).
Experience: Minimum 5 years in clearing and forwarding, with a focus on the African trade.
Skills: Strong leadership, negotiation, and analytical abilities.
Knowledge: In-depth understanding of trade regulations, customs procedures, and logistics in Africa.
Relationships: Collaborate with internal teams (IL Director, Commercial, Sales, etc.) and external partners (Airlines, Shipping Lines and Customs Authorities).
