ASSISTANT FINANCIAL / MANAGEMENT HR ACCOUNTANT

Leading Retailer seeks a SAICA registered Accountant with minimum of 2 – 3 years’ experience in Financial / Management Accounting within a Retail environment to join their dynamic team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accuracy and completeness of general ledger posting; compliance of financial statements with financial reporting standards, as well as the regulatory requirements of each individual country with a focus on Human resources HR cost accounting (COE).
He / She will also be responsible for day to day management of HR accounting functions. This will include; Management, reporting, reconciliations, analysis of costs and submissions of statutory reports

Minimum requirements:
• BA Accounting and Financial Management
• SAICA registered
• Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in a Specialist role (Financial Accounting, Management Accounting)
• Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a Management Accounting role
• Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience within a Retail environment
• Minimum of 3-4 years’ Management experience
• Knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards)
• Knowledge of Business Planning & Consolidation (BPC)
• Knowledge of SAP
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Advanced Google Suite -Sheet skills
• Minimum of 1-2 years’ basic Project Management skills
• Valid Driver’s Licence
• Advanced Computer skills (MS Excel and SAP Finance)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English

Responsibilities will include:
Internal and External Audit Management
• Prepare annual valuations of various HR related and submit timely and accurate completion of financial transactions to external auditors.
• Communicate external auditor requirements with the payroll managers to promote timely delivery of information.

Financial Statement Preparation
• Ensure all countries are compliant with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) where applicable to Human Resources accounting.
• Audit and check financial statements from the various countries to ensure their accuracy.

Budget planning and control (COE and HR related expenses)
• Assist in Planning Preparations, coordinating and review of COE and HR related budgets.
• Prepare reports for the Group on COE and HR related budgets.

Financial Month End Accuracy Procedures
• Review income statements for the Group entities on a monthly basis.
• Prepare and Review balance sheet reconciliations and file and record for balance sheet purposes.

Schedules Submission
• Submit relevant Group reporting information to Group HR Accountant.
• Perform calculations, analysis and general ledger submissions for group reporting schedules.

Reporting
• Assist Group HR Accountant to prepare monthly Group COE report.
• Prepare monthly management scorecards per branch reports.

Payments
• Ensure that the supplier invoice is accompanied by commercial invoice and approved accordingly on a daily basis
• Manage the releasing of payments via online the platform.

Cost of Employment and HR related Reconciliations and transactions
• Review training SDL levies and grants and control timeous claims and rebates.
• Review and reconcile HR related balance sheet accounts.

Project accounting and other Ad Hoc system implementations
• Manage financial control on new system and process implementations
• Project report preparation and presentation to the project committees.
• Ensure efficient and accurate financial governance and oversight on project implementations.
