Responsibilities:
Operate boilers within guidelines
Evaluate coal quality
Give feedback regarding the quality of coal and suitability thereof
Test stipulated boiler components and water daily
Follow shift change procedures
Feed boiler with coal using a tractor were applicable
Record and report on the utilization of steam, water
Clean boiler equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures
Control detergent measurements
Take water samples to the laboratory
Maintain good housekeeping practices
Clean boiler house and surrounding area
Apply safety principles
Comply with safety standards
Conduct safety inspections
Maintain equipment eg. tractor, water softer plant

Requirements:
Grade 12
Work in open area (i.e. in all weather conditions)
Heights (climb on top of boiler)
Shifts/overtime/public holidays
Physically healthy and strong
Conscientious and accurate
