SUMMARY

Our Client in the Automotive Aftermarket industry is looking for a Business Development Manager with the potential to grow into a senior leadership position within three years. The successful candidate will be responsible for spearheading business growth, acquiring new customers, and expanding their product range.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the guidance of the Group Operational Leadership, develop and implement robust business development strategies to drive growth and increase market share.
Collaborate with the management teams in-country and at headquarters to align business development strategies with the company’s overall objectives.
Identify and cultivate new business opportunities, including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, products, and services.
Core market segments include Retail, Resellers, Light Vehicle Workshops, Transporter Fleets, Mining Workshops, Agricultural, Government tenders and Building/Construction Contractors.
Forge strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and business partners to secure long-term business growth.
Grow existing product ranges and oversee the introduction of new products and services within the scope of the company’s core capabilities, ensuring they meet market needs and contribute to revenue growth.
Become familiar with the various workshop (electrical, diesel fuel injection, hydraulic, generator) disciplines to market these service capabilities.
Prepare and deliver regular reports on business growth, new business leads, and customer feedback.
Mentor and lead a team, setting objectives and monitoring performance to ensure continuous improvement and readiness for leadership roles.
Collaborate with Procurement and Finance functions to ensure optimal stock levels, introduction of new stock items and selection of new suppliers are managed efficiently.
Collaborate with Warehouse function to ensure store layout and material flow are optimised, and that stocking of all branches in terms of range and stockholding is performed correctly.
Collaborate with the Internal Sales function and provide guidance and training in parts identification and application to improve customer satisfaction.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Proven track record in business development, ideally in the automotive aftermarket, hand and power tools, industrial cleaning solutions or power generation sectors.
Strong strategic and commercial acumen, with the ability to drive business growth and profitability.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent higher qualification) in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
Leadership potential with the ambition to progress to a senior leadership role within the planned timeline.
