An up-coming skills development provider/training academy is seeking the services of an
experienced Business Development Professional in the Midrand (Gauteng) area. This position
will report to the Managing Director. The position will ideally suit a results-driven individual
with a passion for sales in the learning and development environment.

Main Position Purpose:
The main purpose of this role is to actively seek new business opportunities, engage and
build relationships with potential customers leading to acquiring a sale.
Key Performance Areas (not exhaustive):
• Working together with the leadership team to develop an implementable multisector business development plan;
• Secure profitable new business through various identified and appropriate means;
• Accountable for growth and proactively increasing turnover;
• Attending to potential clients in different areas of responsibility;
• Addressing and resolving clients queries promptly and satisfactorily;
• Ensuring that quotations are submitted timeously to clients;
• Building and maintaining professional relationships with clients;
• Planning, budgeting, co-ordinating and attending to clients;

Skills and Experience Requirements:
• Proven work experience as a Business Development Representative, Sales Account
Executive or similar role;
• Hands-on experience sales prospecting techniques like cold calling and cold emailing;
• Track record of achieving sales targets;
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills;
• A flair for marketing and public relations;
• Post-matric qualification in marketing and/or sales;
• Exposure to skills development legislation and processes;
• Working knowledge of B-BBEE Codes of Good Practice is essential;
