Cloud Engineer– Cloud, Active Directory, Office 365

Intro to the Team
Kontak Recruitment is currently recruiting and hiring for a Cloud Engineer vacancy based in Durban , the Cloud Engineer will join a team who are working towards being flexible engineers that put the technology and software design approach at the forefront of our skills but understand the value in making it simple enough that end user’s and our customers don’t know the software exists.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in IT discipline or equivalent job experience
Relevant Microsoft training and certifications including Azure

Experience:
5 years job experience as a Server Administrator or similar capacity.
Experience with AD and Azure AD migrations

The Cloud Engineer will form an extended part of the development / DevOps teams and will play a central role in forging the strategic direction of cloud and supporting services in the organisation.
This is a hands-on role that will include:
Supporting both the Infrastructure and Development teams in configuration and administration of cloud-based services, process and capacity.
Architecture of private, public and hybrid cloud solutions.
Remediation and migration of Active Directory into Azure AD and the ongoing architecting and support of Azure AD services.
Architecting and delivery of Office 365 solutions to enable business process and better support both internal and external clients.
Research, recommend, deploy, and maintain cloud server/systems infrastructure based on user requirements.
Work with Development and Infrastructure Services to define and implement policies/governance for physical and cloud-based systems.
Participate in defining and implementing the overall structure and standards for systems.
Research and resolve identified security issues
Support daily activities for Server Infrastructure such as log monitoring, asset inventory, utilization reports and other related activities.
Research and implementation of new tools to improve efficiency, performance and cost-effectiveness.
Configuration Management

Skills:
Strong technical knowledge of and practical experience with cloud concepts (IaaS, PaaS and SaaS)
Excellent knowledge of Active Directory, Office 365, Azure, Azure AD and authentication technologies

Desired Skills:
PowerShell Scripting
ARM Templates
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills; ability to work well independently and as part of a team
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
