Compliance Manager – Production Plant Maintenance, Sasolburg, Salary Negotiable on Qualifications/Experience

To manage and coach teams across functions. Oversee and manage the integrity, compliance and performance of assets. To align activities, roles and responsibilities within a world class (manufacturing) environment connecting philosophy, principles and practices required to achieve required people and system efficiencies. To be appointed as the GMR 2.1 with regulating and ensuring compliance with regards to the OHS Act.

Qualifications:
BSc or BEng Degree in the mechanical or electrical engineering discipline GCC – A requirement. Previous appointment as a GMR 2.1 will be an advantage Previous appointment as a 16.2 will be an advantage

Experience:
6 – 10 Years’ relevant maintenance management experience within a chemical/rotating machinery environment • 3 Years’ people management experience

Design Experience: National & international codes and standards, and best industry practices • Maintenance strategy development & implementation experience • Experience in managing statutory compliance for a chemical/rotational facility
Duties

Human Relations: • Recruiting Employees • Employee Development Discussion • Disciplinary Actions • Promotion Evaluation • Merit Evaluation for Increases and Bonuses

SHEQ, Integrated Management System (IMS): • Implementation and maintaining of ISO 9001 - Quality System • Implementation and maintaining of ISO 14001 - Environmental System • Implementation and maintaining of ISO 45000 - Safety System
OHS Act Compliance: • Ensure Statutory compliance with General Machinery Regulations • Ensure statutory compliance with regards to the Pressure Equipment Regulations and Vessels under Pressure Regulations • General Machinery Regulation (GMR 2.1) appointment • Develop and implement risk-based inspection systems for statutory equipment • Statutory oversight for Liquids and Blenders sites • Auditing all sites to ensure compliance

Responsible for maximum asset capability: • Develop and implement standards and best practices for design, operation and maintenance of assets • Identify and assess risk associated with all assets. Implement mitigating actions in conjunction with Maintenance Managers • Optimisation of assets • Asset Life Cycle Decision Making • Manage Asset Reliability

Design Compliance: • Responsible for engineering governance and compliance of new installations, modifications and improvements. • Design review and approval of new installations, modifications and improvements. • Review of statutory requirements and compliance related to the legal register or compile legal registers where necessary • Application of applicable National and International standards with regards to OHS Act regulations.

Budget Estimation and Control: • CAPEX & OPEX Budget Estimations • CAPEX & OPEX Budget Control

Maintenance Strategy Development & Control:• Develop plant specific maintenance strategy regarding legal requirements • Control and administration of Legal registers pertaining to plant and equipment • Control and administration of document control centre.
