A well-known Construction company operating throughout South Africa involved in Surface mining, drilling solutions, bulk earthworks, infrastructure development and plant hire is looking a suitably qualified and experienced Contracts Manager - Civils & Bulk Earthworks.
Description:
Assumes responsibility for the Contracts Management and integration of all physical construction activities on for a Bulk Earthworks, Surface Mining, Infrastructure Development
Skills, Experience & Education:
BSC, BTech, HND or ND in Civil Engineering
Min 15 years of experience in the Bulk Earthworks/Surface mining/Infrastructure Development industry including Lateral Support , out of which the last 3-5 years should have functioned in the similar capacity of a medium/ large construction Company (CIDB 8 or 9).
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Contracts Management
Client liaison.
Report writing.
Problem solving skills.
Good interpersonal skills
Scheduling and Programming of work is a must
Ability to manage quality of Construction on site
Ability to deal with and manage Subcontractors
Extensive Technical Knowledge of Civil and building construction
Ability to manage cost on the site
Payment Certificates.
Ability to complete projects in time.
Read, understand and explain drawing specifications to Foremen.
Ensure safety compliances to and promote safe working practices.
Monitor construction activity on site to prescribed quality standards.
Monitor production and make daily progress reports for submission to Line Management.
Identify bottlenecks, resolve them and streamline the construction process on site.
Integrate various resource requirements of production teams on site.
Monitor, control and improve production and productivity levels on site.
Conduct production planning and integration meetings on site
